*10 &10 Sharing:   Utilizing the Knoster Model for Managing Complex Change
     to  Increase District Buy-in for Intervention Implementation

The Knoster Model for Complex Change is a framework which identifies five elements needed to successfully manage complex change within a system: vision, skills, incentives, resources and an action plan. In the FL SPDG grant, we have found this tool very valuable in working with District Implementation Teams (DIT) in helping them recognize each element’s unique impact on the success of implementing SPDG interventions. Increasing awareness of these elements may increase buy-in regarding the DIT process in place.

Making Connections Statewide: Online Learning Platform

By using an online connected learning platform, you can increase capacity and reach a greater number of professionals statewide, particularly in more remote areas. Transition Resources for Addressing Student Needs

Mississippi's Family PBIS Toolkit

The PBIS Toolkit provides family members and foster parents with resources and tools to assist them in understanding and implementing the research based practice of positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) with their children. Information is also included about school-wide PBIS to help family members understand and be involved in PBIS at systemic levels (local school, school district and statewide).

Gaining the Family Perspective in MTSS

The MTSS Family Engagement Survey (Noonan, Gaumer Erickson, & Groff, 2015) is a 15- item measure based on the national PTAs standards for family-school partnerships. Results from more than 10,000 family members across more than 100 schools show that the data support actionable improvement in school and district family engagement practices and allow districts to see growth over time. Composite data are utilized by buildings and districts, as well as professional development providers and the Kansas State Department of Education to evaluate the implementation of Kansas MTSS Aligned Framework and the State Systemic Improvement Plan (SSIP).

Ohio's Family & Community Engagement for Early Literacy Inventory

Ohio State University (OSU) has developed an inventory to assist school teams of parents, teachers, principal, and community members in measuring their family engagement practices that directly support early language and literacy development. The inventory prompts teams to view the extent and quality of practices in three areas: communication, supporting literacy at home, and strategic community partnerships. This is the first year Ohio will be implementing this inventory.

Assessing MTSS Implementation

Staff from AIR and Garrett Consulting, LLC have collaborated to adapt the Center on Response to Interventions RTI Fidelity of Implementation Rubric to meet the implementation needs of participating Delaware SPDG schools, while taking into account the time available to implement a comprehensive fidelity tool. Tools shared will be the RTI Fidelity of Implementation Rubric, corresponding interview protocol, and an online survey adapted from the RTI Fidelity of Implementation Rubric for interim pulse checks.

Alabama Student Transition Engagement Series 3

Color-coding Data for Goal Setting

In order to support schools in setting goals and choosing the appropriate intervention (Check & Connect and/or the Strategic Instruction Model), we have developed a tool that uses colors (green, yellow, and red) for proficiency and graduation rates to visually depict the current levels of their students relative to the state average. This coding system helps districts and schools identify their needs more quickly and set goals more easily.

Promising Practices in Family Engagement

Overview of a process to support vetting submission for Promising Practice search statewide to highlight and honor family and school partnership that support all students. Overview of the search for Promising Practices related to family engagement across the State of Iowa. This will include the following components of the search: 1. My SPDG work life: its AUT-O-MAT-IC

We spend a good deal of our professional lives doing, and re-doing tasks that are necessary to provide our stakeholders with what they need, when they need it. Developers have recognized this and have started creating tools like Zapier that automate simple processes like sending emails, or filing expenses with a subscription. However, some of the less mundane parts of our day-to-day activities still present repetition and the opportunity for automation. This session will share our experience of automating the production of SPDG implementation reports for our buildings, and in doing so will open up conversation about telltale signs that a task might be automatable, how to think through the steps of automation, find the right person to help, and how to work with these professionals towards a positive outcome, through an iterative process.
