Annotated List of Resources & Information Requested at MSRRC SPDG Regional Meeting
April 27-28, 2010

  • Kansas Multi-tiered System of Supports: http://www.kansasmtss.org/. MTSS is a coherent continuum of evidence based, system-wide practices to support a rapid response to academic and behavioral needs, with frequent data-based monitoring for instructional decision-making to empower each Kansas student to achieve high standards.
  • Assessing Evidence-Based Programs and Practices. Borrowed from K. Blasé. State Implementation and Scaling-up of Evidence-based Practices (SISEP).
  • The Model Demonstration Coordination Center: Reflections on the First Four Years. [Prepared by SRI Project for OSEP in December 2009] Launched in 2005, the MDCC supports OSEP’s model demonstration work by (1) coordinating the evaluations of each cohort of model demonstration projects (MDPs) and synthesizing and analyzing their findings to maximize the strength of evidence produced, and (2) identifying characteristics of an effective implementation/evaluation/refinement process that moves a practice from early testing to being ready for sustainability and wider adoption.

  • ARRA Funds for Scaling Up Innovations draft PDF document The State Implementation and Scaling up Evidence-based Practices Center has prepared a statement describing how ARRA funds (including Race to the Top and Innovation funds) can be used to facilitate statewide uses of innovations to meet the goals of the ARRA legislation. The statement is a work in progress and should be considered a DRAFT of a more complete version that we hope to have on this website by March 2010. However, given the interest in making a short-term investment in implementation and scaling up capacity that can result in long-term gains for students, we are making this DRAFT available now to help States as they prepare their applications for ARRA funding.
